As part of the hospial campus update, a new educational center is being designed to serve the public, patient and staff. Specific for the nursing staff, are state-of-the-art Skills Labs and Simulation Suite. The RN and NA Skills Labs provide both classroom and clinical environments to demonstrate new procedures and equipment. These Labs include interactive audiovisual equipment connected to other educational venues on and off campus.
The Nursing Simulation suite, replicating the room design in the new patient tower, provides nursing staff “real life” experiences. Adult and child simulation “patients” are electronically manipulated by educators in the adjacent Control Room. The patient room is fully appointed with medical gases, electrical power and plumbing that is controlled by the facilitator. These new educational environments and services reflect the continued commitment by Beaumont Hospital to support staff in their continuing educational needs in providing the best healthcare to the patients.
