The purpose of this Center is the education of medical professionals and trainees by simulating various critical care scenarios using high fidelity simulators, task trainers, and other immersive training models. Examples include simulated intensive care suites, emergency room bays obstetrical suites, and operating rooms. Taken in the whole, multiple simultaneous simulation scenarios will be ongoing, in some cases to increase capacity, and in other cases to increase realism by adding multiple simultaneous “patients.”

The space will also support innovation in simulation and modeling using new materials to produce better simulators. Educational research will be performed in the center with nearly every training event. Suitable observation areas and data collection capacity is required to accomplish this goal.
