The University of San Diego’s Hahn School of Nursing was established to train nursing leaders and nurse scientists through its graduate and post graduate programs. The Institute for Nursing Research, Advanced Practice and Simulation (INR) was established to enhance nursing research and simulation research at the University.
The simulation and standardized patient programs anchor the building with advanced spaces that replicate healthcare settings within the simulation center. A centralized nurse station can be used as a nursing station or centralized media review station.
Simulation rooms are staged for specialized healthcare settings including OR, ED/trauma, labor and delivery, med/surg, and home health. To increase realism, multi-room scenarios can be orchestrated to replicate real world experience. Observation areas are located separately and provide isolated circulation from simulation spaces.
